Living The Dream!

So much more has happened in the last month wrapping up the rest of ‘Crippled’ post-production and sound design. Looking good! I am pumped because the project has been under wraps for the most part and I am finally looking forward to showing it off!
Kyle and I burned the midnight oil again last night working on the edit. Tightened up the edit by ultimately cutting another minute from the running time. I have a session tonight with my sound guru Justin Benjiman to level audio. Today is bound to be one that is productive and full of kickin’ ass!
I will try to write a few detailed posts and post all production stills over the weekend.
I’ve been doing all kinds of interesting tasks acting as the Art Department for ‘Roses’ (with Logan’s Mom acting as a devoted assistant AD), which has bee rewarding and a lot of fun. From the cuts of “Roses’ Logan has shown me so far--- the project is definitely coming together as a hilarious, poignant and refreshing look at the rigors of courtship, with the sometimes raunchy, yet savvy script that is ably executed thus far. For the most part, working on others short films with my fellow filmmaker buddies is kind of like church in a way. It inspires me creatively, utilizes the passion I have for this art form, and makes me want to be a better filmmaker.
The rest of my time and energy has been devoted to polishing the rest of my portfolio pieces and gearing up my demo reel and promo materials for graduation in 2 weeks. Stay tuned! I’ll catch up. Happy Tuesday everybody!

A quick update…

Egads, I'm behind in keeping up with this blog! Luckily I have been staying busy prepping my portfolio for graduation. I have also been working as art director/ associate producer on Logan Littlefield’s senior project, a romantic comedy titled: ‘Roses’. Be sure to click the link to the 'Roses' blog on my page and get the low down on what we have been up to!

I have been telling myself this is a “soft launch” for the blog site, but please feel free to share this page with your friends and check back regularly to see the latest rough cuts and for details about the ‘Crippled’ launch party.

Hopefully, you will also follow us on twitter and facebook (launching in the next week), where I will be continuously micro-blogging post-production updates, posting pictures, videos, and more!

We've made lots of changes to the film.  Ok, I am being modest...In the past couple weeks Crippled has undergone a complete overhaul. This includes a tremendous amount of hours working on sound design, color correction, and cutting over 2 minutes from the original running time of 17 minutes.

Kyle recently completed the new title sequence and brought the commercial spot to life with campy graphics and more.
Ken Rowe and some of my peers gave me a lot of great feedback, which really helped with cutting down the run time and upped entertainment value undeniably. Things are looking good! I am aware there are bound to be lots of things to fix still, so I have been diligently working with Kyle Hale and Justin Benjamin to ensure we meet our deadlines and make the final product top-notch.
